Obituary for Sharon Abele

Print
Sharon Louise Abele, of Culdesac, won her battle over Parkinson’s disease on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, and went home to the Jesus she loved.

Sharon and her husband, Larry, had moved to Culdesac from Tacoma in 2005. They had been employed in Tacoma at Life Center church and campus, where they met, fell in love and were married.

After working several years in Kooskia as a bookkeeper at CFI, she was hired as city clerk/treasurer for the city of Culdesac and volunteered as the treasurer at Culdesac Community Church. She retired in 2014, after 7½ years with the city, and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease a few months later.

She enjoyed their adopted community and was beloved by citizens of Culdesac. In 2015, Sharon and her husband were honored to be selected as grand marshals for the Shebang Days Parade.

Sharon was born May 4, 1943, to parents Herbert and Marguerite Dunham, both deceased. Also preceding her in death was stepdaughter Kimberly Abele; stepdaughter-in-law Margie (Tom) Abele; brother-in-law Dick Damery; and her sweet dog, Sadie.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of 17 years, Larry Abele; sisters Lois Damery, Janet (Clint) Schetzle, and Julie (James) Fry; children Eric (Ailene) Armstrong, Paul Armstrong, Susan (Dan) Dallas and Steve Leroy; stepchildren Denise (Ray) Bulger, Angie (Larry) Vickers, LeAnn (Abele) Saner, Tom Abele, Wendy (Rick) Swan and Lisa (Mike) Miltenberger; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arrangements have been made by Mountain View Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at Culdesac Community Church after the holidays. Gifts made in her behalf should go to Culdesac Community Church Kid’s Club.
