Steve Krause, 72, of Clarkston, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022, Tri-State Memorial Hospital in Clarkston. He was born June 9, 1950, in Clarkston to Bruno and Olive Elliott Krause.

Steve graduated from Lewiston High School in 1968 and attended Lewis-Clark State College, where he majored in history for three years. He completed an apprenticeship as a machinist and worked for Bloundt Inc. for 25 years, installing glass for Clarkston Glass and then worked at Erb Hardware.

He married Lori Whiteley in Coeur d’Alene in 1990.

Steve was an avid airplane enthusiast and was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) for several years. He also loved camping and boating at Priest Lake as well as traveling to the coast. He also enjoyed mountain bike riding at Moab, Utah, and the trails up Asotin Creek.


He is survived by his wife, Lori Krause; sister, Maxine Wilsey; brother, Ben (Jan) Krause; and numerous nieces and nephews. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Bruce Wilsey.

A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lewis Clark Animal Shelter.
