Obituary for Elaine Anne Entrup

Elaine Anne Entrup passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024, at the age of 71, after a short bout with cancer. Her family was by her side.

Elaine was born on April 10, 1952, in Lewiston, to Irv and Marguerite (Setlow) Ellis. Later, Irv married Alice Onthank, whom Elaine considered her mother. After moving around the Washington, Idaho and Montana area, the family settled in Clarkston. She graduated from Clarkston High School in 1971.

Elaine met Dale Entrup in 1972 and they were married on May 19, 1973. They lived in Lewiston for five years before calling Clarkston their home. They had two sons, Bill in 1975, and Rob in 1978.

Elaine was a stay-at-home mother for her sons. After her sons were older, she became an in-home care provider. Taking care of people was one of the joys of her life.

Elaine enjoyed reading, fishing and camping. One of her favorite hobbies was hunting for mushrooms in the mountains. Her greatest love was probably her various pets, cats and dogs.

She was preceded in death by her father, Irv Ellis; mother, Alice Ellis; brother, Mike Ellis; and sisters Liz Cain and Donna Taylor. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dale Entrup; her sons Bill Entrup (Susan York) of Pullman and Rob Entrup (Alisha Jundt) of Denver; and her sister Louise Robertson (Mike) of Spokane Valley. She is also survived by granddaughter Carol Woodbury (Derrick) of Yuma, Ariz.; and grandsons Will Entrup and Tony Entrup, both of Pomeroy.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
