Obituary for Jamie J Daugherty
Jamie J. Daugherty passed away at Royal Plaza Heath and Rehabilitation in Lewiston, Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023, at the age of 89.
She was born on Nov. 30, 1933, in Canonsburg, Penn., to George and Ethel (Isherwood) Duliere.
Jamie graduated from Canonsburg High School and completed a degree in biology in the School of Science at the Carnegie Institute of Technology, Pittsburgh. She worked for McGean Biological and then as a research assistant at Lakewood Hospital, both in Cleveland, before settling in Broadview Heights, Ohio, to raise her two children. She moved to Lewiston in 2004 to be closer to her daughter and her family. Jamie was an avid reader and loved dogs, especially her dalmatians.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Mahlon H. Daugherty.
She is survived by Nora (Gary) Mayton of Lewiston; son, Robert Daugherty of Bexley, Ohio; and grandchildren, Brian Mayton of Somerville, Mass., Alex Mayton of Lewiston and Shari Daugherty of Bexley. She will be missed.
