Obituary for Shaun William Key

Shaun William Key, 39, of Lewiston passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Clarkston Health and Rehabilitation of Cascadia. After a long battle with brain cancer Shaun was released from his pain and went to be with his heavenly father.

Shaun was born on Nov. 8, 1983, in Lewiston to Margie Arnzen and Joe Key. He was raised in Lewiston and attended school at McGhee Elementary, Jenifer Junior High and Lewiston High School. He played several years of baseball and his favorite position was pitcher. He also enjoyed bowling and competing in tournaments.

Shaun had a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, four-wheeling and hunting with his brother TJ. He loved target practicing, shooting guns and spending time with his cousin Dom. Shaun had a passion for being physically fit, spent several years in fitness training and entered several competitions. He loved his music, and you could always hear him singing in the shower, in the car and especially at church.

During the last part of his life he was most passionate about two things, his faith in God and his love for his daughters Taylor and Marah. No matter where Shaun lived, he always found a church to attend. His belief in the Lord kept him strong, positive and able to fight hard all the way to the end.

Shaun lived every day with a joyful heart and made it his mission to make people smile. Even on his hardest days, he found the energy to tell everyone he saw to have a blessed day and that they were beautiful, amazing and worth it. During his battle with cancer, it was important to him to show everyone that he would never stop fighting and never give up. He encouraged others that were facing challenges to do the same.

Shaun is survived by his mother Margie Arnzen (Greg), father Joe Key, his brother Travis Key (Lori), his daughters Taylor and Marah, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

A celebration of life will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 22, at New Spring Missionary Baptist Church at 823 Seventh Ave., Lewiston. A potluck will follow at Pioneer Park in Lewiston. In lieu of flowers, he requested that you consider a donation in his name to the K9s for Warriors program.
